We decided early on what we don't want to be.

Not a hype machine.

Not an algorithm-optimization project.

Not a stage for egos.

What we want to be is much harder to describe. It's closer to a tribe than a brand. To a living room than a club. It runs on the same faces coming back — not because an ad pulled them in, but because last time they felt something they want to feel again.

In practice that means: we communicate personally, we reply ourselves, we take time for the people who give us their time. We grow slowly and accept the speed that comes with it. It's not the fastest path. But it's the only one we can walk with a clear conscience.
